A170 Pickering to Whitby closed.

Why's that then? That's a new one on me, losing concentration when it's blustery? Sounds like bollox to me does that.

If you were right here, right now, then I think you would know what JB means

I don't know where you live or if you know this part of the world, but if you are sat up here on the side of the North Sea, then you would know that there is no such thing as 'wind direction'.....The wind hits you here there and everywhere....It takes effort ( mentally and physically ) to even stay on the left hand side of the road. It's too easy to say 'stay at home then' unpredictable is the name of the game. I have lived here for over 50 years and it still catches me out.

'Course I know what you mean; just as windy up in the Peaks. But hardly a time to lose concentration. Rather the opposite. ( please, no pissing contest about who's area is windiest FFS's) Today has been mostly blustery as fook around Strines and the Snake but not once did the conditions make me lose concentration out there.

It is :thumby:

I rode back from Stranraer yesterday and it was 60 mph wind speed 'blustery' and fighting such a wind is another thing to control and for a possible inexperienced rider it makes riding harder and another thing to 'concentrate' on, along with speed/position/traffic/road :D

Went to Cropton car and bike show yesterday and ended up doing over 200 miles on back roads. Sherburn, back roads to Pickering, Cropton, Chimneys (spelling) Rossdale, back roads to Helmsley, Sutton bank...etc etc. Yep mostly windy with some bad gusts, and like Tim says, all the more reason to concentrate. If you're not sheltered it makes no difference if your in Whitby or sunny Bradford.
Lets forget about the wind and pray the biker gets well.

It was a rider on a Harley in collision with a Kia car. Stable in hospital.

On friday a rider died on the coast road between Scarborough and Whitby, another car collision.

It was someone I know on the Harley....serious injuries...but they believe she will pull through
