just a quick watch out.... i got done for speeding today on the A32 ( first ticket for 20 years.....doh.....) the charming police women with the radar gun was lovely as she explained that i was doing 53 in a 40 and i had to have the 60 quid fine and 3 points:blast

We even managed a good old bike chat and a look around the R1200RT Police Bike!!!

She told me that that Hampshire police had had a lot of complaints about speeding on these routes (not just bikes she pointed out) and they are having a "little clamp down",.... i was caught far and square and even knew i was over the 40 limit..... ( it is a country road that goes 60, 40 then 30 before the village....i was just outside the 60 at the end of a two mile straight !)

i'm not looking for a road safety lecture...:rob i was speeding, got caught and will pay my fine with a smile.... i thought i would just post to tell others to watch out as this is a very busy Sunday run route!!.... be safe!

Probably the most Policed

roads in Hampshire.

Particularly on Wednesday evenings when Loomies and the Station Cafe are open.
Also weekends when Loomies are doing a steady trade.
At these times it pays to adhere closely to the limits.

Beware several of the old 40/50 limits have been downgraded and lengthened.

Watching some loonie sportsbike riders antics out here no wonder the attention of the affluent locals is attracted and old bills ears bent.

Several riders have been clocked on the 272 single rural carraigeway over 140mph !!!! Quite a few still scenery interface.

Fortunately there is an abundance of GS friendly A and B roads to enjoy in Hants that are enforcement free.

Some of the back roads that run parallel to the A32 from Fareham to Alton are far more fun to ride on a GS than the main trunk route. Never seen a cop on them either.

Shame you got nicked for exceeding the posted limits a little, no dout you were still riding safely and under silly speeds. Seen a lot of loony sportsbike heroes out annoying the locals that deserve to have their licenses revoked for their antics, a route best avoided nowadays IMHO.

They are going to be out tomorrow as well..

I am going to the Goodwood breakfast club on Sunday and I am sure they will be out in force for that.

Try turning off at Corhampton, heading for Bishops Waltham. Go up the hill, at the top take the 2nd right, lovely road, soooooooooo much better than the over rated A32. The police use this road to train on, I used it when I did the bike safe course with Hampshire police, with a policewoman motorcyclist, apparently the only one in Hampshire.

Frank, you fitted that stubby yet?

Thanks for the tip - that's a very popular area among the people I ride with. Can't say I've ever seen the police around there before so I'm glad I'm not going to get a nasty surprise now!

yes, whilst i was getting ticket a couple sports bikes came hurtling past.... hitting the brakes when they saw her..... bet they laughed their c*&ks off seeing a fat lardy bloke slightly smelling of pee being stopped on his wheezing 1150!

i've only just sold my Sports bike as well...:blast... never got caught on that!
