It's flying past Broughton again tomorrow at 3pm,so I'll have my deck chair outside the workshop and a big stick in case it comes too close

Works with Sea Skuas (the birds, not the missiles - they're a bit too quick), so no reason why it shouldn't work with something slightly larger.

Been in one, and, to be honest, travelling pleb class was very much like any other plane.
Getting out was a different matter. Heathrow couldn't find enough staff to operate walkways to both upper and lower decks at the same time, so had to queue for ages to get off.

Thats nothing - Its the Air Show at RAF Leuchars on the 12th Sept (A week tomorrow) and thats an absolutely superb day out - real boys toys. I'm hoping to be around the area if there is goos disabled facilities as my Mum is staying with me and I can't leave her at home on my 2nd day back from offshore (especially as I'm off to Poland Sunday morning on the bike)

Even better
They tend to use Edinburgh as a staging post so I get to see all the interesting stuff arriving and leaving.
There must have been a show somewhere a few weeks back as a C47, Spitfire and a Hawker Hunter (I think) were flying about.
People ask me if we are bothered by the noise from the Airport
. No - I could stand and watch planes all day (I failed to get into the RAF (Cranwell) in 1964

Just been out for a scoot through Galloway forest and happened to see this big beasty do a couple of approach/ miss landings at prestwick, seems very manoverable.

I watched it back round over Edinburgh Airport and head east down the forth. It must be the Goldwing or Electra Glide of the Skyes. Biggest Mama I have ever seen flying.
Reminded me a bit of the old Guppy though.

Well, that was impressive .
We had a West wind today so it approached from the East (opposite end of the Airport from me).
I was busy going some non-bike cutting & welding in the workshop during the morning, but saw it pass the kitchen window as it left at lunch-time.
I am used to watching planes while sitting at the kitchen table and this thing dwarfed the 767s and Tri-Stars that are our larger regulars.
We get the occasional 747 as well (usually when Scotland are playing Ireland at Murrayfield) but even they look small against the 380.
When I was very young, we lived at Aldershot and I have a vague memory of the Brabazon flying over (as well as the flying wings, jets with twin-boom tails and the early Viscounts. The fighter of the day was the Tempest / Typhoon
) I guess they all flew out of Farnborough.
