Aaaaarse..........

Watch 'Deliverence' then complain.:ymca

Mmmm just watched Deliverance and it didn't seem too bad, after all I have been shafted by BMW's uk pricing policy and will probably be shafted by Touratech et al, so what's a little more shafting amongst friends? "Squeal like a pig boy" I can do but being near Wales at the moment will I have to "Bah like a sheep"? :hide

Just to say ive only done about 150kms on my new ADV, but tomorrow if off to France to bang in a quick 600Kms to see how the old body fares on the new steed :rob

BUT, ive just bought from the local cycle shop padded cycling shorts to put under my leathers :P

I will let you know how my 13 euro test purchase goes :thumb2

I'm happy on the front but the wife is complaining of a sore arse too.

My mirrors are good but I can't see what is going on behind her!!

There doesn't seem to be any additional weight or bounce as we ride.
Am I missing something!!

I cant sit down, I ache, I am not looking forward to getting back on it, what the f*&^ did BMW put in my seat? Picked it up new yesterday and did 350 miles. I have never felt pain like this from a bike seat, don't know what an afternoon in the showers at a prison is like but it can't be much worse. Looks like a new seat for me then :blast

Give it a chance as it takes about 20,000 miles to break it in!

Did 500 miles in one go coming back from France on Sunday and only started to get uncomfortable about 20 miles from home.

Airhawk

I did 1300 miles in 2 days using an airhawk cushion. Could honestly say I would not have been able to do 1/10th of that without it. An absolute necessity for long trips!

I also used the airhawk doing lands end to J' O Groats on a Triumph Sprint RS. Once again, I could not have done it without.

Never tried a Corbin or Sargent seat so can not compare. However The only thing I have found, is that the Airhawk raises you up about 1-2 inches, and can feel a little unstable at first.

However, for long journeys I LOVE IT

Airhawk

I have a Airhawk and have just done 3500 miles in last 2 weeks and can I still walk.
Try one.

Looks like an Airhawk then, has anyone bought one from the states on Fleabay before? Seems you can save a lot of money? Any pitfalls? Also thinking of trying Tony Archer in Huddersfield to customise the original. Not 100% sure yet :nenau but thanks for all the replies.

use a tt extra low seat very comfy...........find the bmw low seat is ok for about 50 miles then i'm havin to stand up on pegs......:(

IMHO the standard seat needs some running in like the rest of the bike. First day did 125 miles, unimpressed with arse ache at the end of the day. Next longer run was 150 miles in pouring rain, aprt from getting very wet as I did not put the liner in my TWAt suit before I went out, less arse ache when I got home. Then next longer run was 225 in a day round North Yorks Moors, got home no probs at all. Like you, at first I was prepared to dump the seat and get a "better" seat, but now (only 1500 miles on) am glad I saved my money.

Your call of course, but IMHO yiu may get to like it. BTW I have not yet gone more than 225 in a day, so by end of winter you might find me on slagging the seat off so reserve the right to change my mind

winner

Again have to agree with some of the other guys, the air hawk is a fantastic bit of kit fully adjustable to suit ure arse for maximum comfort, excellent, worth every penny:clap:clap:thumb2

All these complaints about the seat! - I 've done 16500 miles since I got it on March 1st and the seat's all right - let's hear it for the seat. I sit on it - no problems.
