Abandoned airhead in Italy , anyone's ?

If this bike was clamped/ticketed in a UK carpark public or private a letter to the owner would be in the post pronto due to DVLA dishing the details out.

Now do "we" know anyone on here that would have access to the DVLA database to tip the owner off?

It's a reasonably legit situation:nenau

Would it be reasonable for a Copper to access it or would that be a bollocking?

It's registered, taxed and insured, no brainer, it's owned. And the owner is not going to be too pleased at it's removal......
You may find that 'contractual agreements' excist is fare paying car parks, do we now if this is a free bike park?
The op mentions it being a 12 month there, then 'since July' and also there is a bi-annual clean up...... right, where should I start! ;)
If listed, the best the company could do is to contact DVLA and inform them that they have had to remove the vehicle due to a clean up. It is no different that an illegally parked vehicle in a city. The lifters would not just take a vehicle and give it away..... to a local mechanic college.

If you brought that back to UK, you have taken it without owners consent, making you either a thief or handler of stolen goods. And the grilling i had last month by a French Douane, with two straight DRZs in my van, I reckon you'd be doing well to not get your ear pulled for having a bike that a car park cleaner had given you! :D

Just leave someone else's property where it is

It's taxed and insured in the UK, the rightful owner might be flying back to start his hols any time soon

Can't understand what the Airhead Liberation Front think it's any business of theirs:rolleyes:

As said above, what you do know about this bike is that its owned by someone (not you) and if you decide to steal it then you shouldn't be suprised if you are charged with vehicle theft either here or in Italy.

The point is that someone's property won't be left where it is. (roll fukin eyes smiley)

Ok, wheeled around the back, it's no longer in the way and won't be touched by anyone. The police have been informed, so have the car- park staff. If /when the owner does eventually turn up they'll just point him to where his bike is. If he doesn't then we'll just have to think of something else. In the meantime again, if anyone can find a way to tip off the owner then I'll be grateful. Otherwise the matter is kind of closed for now.

Given that we have the registration number, its taxed and insured, surely someone in the British Police should be able to get the owners details in seconds and give him a polite ring to ask him his intentions .... obviously after they've prevented or solved all the other local crime first. :thumb2

They will be preventing international crime by informing the forum who's it is :)
It is still someones pride and Joy :D
Jaber went from this airrport a couple o year ago and left a bike over there
Maybe one of his fleet of tractors :thumb2

He isnt stealing you prick.

He is stopping it from being scrapped and hoping someone turns up to claim it.

If he had the intention of stealing why is he posting here trying to find the owner. Always the cúnt :trippy

Doing a trippy or are you jealous somebody might have got a nice little 80RT for free

He has said it will be scrapped if he does nothing.

He is trying to save the bike. If no one comes to claim it he will donate it to a school of mechanics rather than it be scrapped.

What the fuck do people have a problem with.

Data Protection Act :rob The days of looking up vehicles etc are long long over. You'd be hung drawn and quartered if you put this up on the PNC as no crime has been reported.
If the bike owner is to lazy to sort his own bike out, why should others fuss around for him:nenau. Let the locals have a play on it:D

EXACTLY.....
I've got both of those :trippy fucking numbskulls on ignore, now you see why..:augie

I'm up for rescuing it anytime..
i'd prefer a letter authorising from the owner...

Yes I have rescued bikes like this before, last time was a R60/5 left at Oost Souberg railway station Holland...on irish plates..1984 iirc
One of my Dutch friend got hold of it [for me] at disposal for 100 Guilders  [approx £12.00]
I bought it back to UK in my Truck, with receipt, declared at customs and then got an age related reg from DVLA...

The owner is either ridiculously trusting (you'd never expect to see the bike again if parked up at a UK airport) or something has happened in the meantime to cause him to change his plans. He may be unaware of the airport cleanup policy. He should have left his contact details with the bike but there must be some legal way of getting the owners details from DVLA or asking the DVLA to contact the owner and pass a message on

A motorcycle is left at an airport by its owner, he even secures it with a chain.
Someone else in another country decides they are going to go and remove that machine without his consent and without knowing who the owner is.
That is taking a vehicle without the owners consent, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle or taking and driving away.
Call it what you like its a crime .... prick.

Quite and I'm sure Proff and Decster who obviously know alot more than anyone else will be along very soon to call you a prick, c*** and numskull as well :thumb2

Are you really this thick ?

Can you not comprehend the intent here ?

It is to save and inform - not to steal. :blast
