I'm off to Shetland on the Friday nite ferry from Aberdeen so I need a B&B in the granite city for Thursday nite, any recomendations?:thumb2

No problem.
Are you on the bike ?
What's your budget ?
Aberdeen city accommodation is busy and expensive during the week. Do you def. want to stay in Aberdeen on Thursday night. There lots of nicer, cheaper places nearby and you've got all day Friday to get to the ferry?

I assume it's THIS Friday you're going. If it's next week, you're in trouble because it's the oil show.

Yep I'm on the bike,It.s this Friday, resonable price:nenau, not really bothered about staying in the city as Im not a drinker,I do have a meeting at the Petrofac offices at 14.30 on Friday though.

Im now thinking of leaving here Thursday and doing 2/3rds of the journey, bunking up and a nice little bimble into Aberdeen on the Friday. morning.

Makes sense.
Give yourself a minimum of 3 hours to Aberdeen from the borders. Two hours from Edinburgh. 1 hour from Dundee.
Your Ferry is only a stones throw from the Petrofac offices - literally.
If you need anything - give me a shout.

Thanks for the replys people,

At the moment Im looking at getting to the guest house mentioned above for Thursday nite, and getting to Aberdeen on Friday morning, but thats all depending how Im feeling as I go !:nenau
If anybody sees a dark green 1200 mooching around the docks come over and have a natter:thumb2

You could also consider staying at the ship inn, Stonehaven harbour then only a 25 min ride into Aberdeen in the morning? :thumb

Update.

In the end the weather was good so i plowed straight on through to Aberdeen, left home at 09.00 and arrived aberdeen at 19.00. 520 miles stopping at every 100 for a break.

I was knackered when i got there so went in to the city centre for an hotel, the place is rammed with the preperations fpr next weeks oil show so had trouble getting a room,in the end had to pay £99 for a premier inn!!

The interview with petrofac was not fruitful,I pulled the plug on it as the job was not one I wanted:blast,so it was pointless going through the motions, good bit of networking though:thumb2

So here I am on sunny shetland with the 1200,see u all down at Lerwick harbour sunday afternoon:bounce1
