I have the joy of insuring my just purchased 2nd hand Adv at the mo and am getting "Oh, no Cat 1 alarm or imobilisier............sorry"
When I had the Dakar, as it was worth under £5k, my trusty Luma Solido Access, sold secure, gold approved disc lock was enough for me (bike also garaged and you gotta get past a guy with a H&K MP3 at work).
Anyway, now I have something worth considerably more, and which I'm going to keep for a long long time, I think something needs fitting, so dont really want to get into a "you don't need one" discussion.
Looks like it's a re-modelled Meta 357T (see here) but has more bits on it.
The plus is they pay YOU if the bike gets nicked. normally 12th months, but you can increase to 3yrs for £20 I believe.
Can also be moved from bike to bike by their technicians etc.
