Hello everyone - new to forum - previous GS owner which I sold a year ago?
Now about to please an order for new RT LE with Dynamic pack and would appreciate any advice on:
1. Engine guards / bars. I am thinking guards as look neater, however my concern is that crud and water will be trapped between hard and cylinder head making cleaning impossible without removal
2. Fully featured topbox with central lock. Should. Opt for brake light? It looks like the brake light on bike is somewhat obstructed when big top box fitted. Also not sure about the electrical connector when removing topbox on short trips.
3. Servicing costs- I get conflicting stories about pricing. Roughly how much should I be paying for first and subsequent services and how difficult is it to self service. Are there any manuals and tool kits available at reasonable cost.
4. Ordering satnav V and disappointed no locking facility included. Is there an aftermarket solution available.
5. The side stand on my previous GS had a small foot which made me nervous on softer ground. Is the RT foot small as per GS and should I buy an aftermarket extender?
6. I am a bit concerned about the current recall. My dealer assures me that it won't affect delivery as required by end of July for a Germany trip with my son and he has stock on order already. I gather it's a rear suspension issue. Should I Hold off until resolved?
