abs light came on???

HELP, 2005 r1200gs, after a run of 40 miles,yesterday all fine,ran through a slight puddle, about 1 mile later abs came on,stayed on, then RED,stopped,(eventually as everything had gone south) stopped the bike,(bearing in mind iam in the middle of the Yorkshire moors with no phone signal)stopped,wife panicking, put on center stand,looked all round for any thing?? couldn't find anything, had a fag, started,worked perfect,all the way back, but i was a LITTLE CAUTIOUS, has anyone had a similar experience? or ADVICE please?? thanks S:thumby::thumby:

If you have servo brakes your ABS is probably heading south. However, the speedo sensor in the back axle is a common culprit for the error. It's shockingly costly for what it is but used sensors are likely to let you down even from reputable suppliers.

If the servo is failing the bike works fine without though you wont have ABS. Contact James Sherlock for ABS delete kits and do some searches for more info.

As a start, change the brake fluid a couple of times to flush the old stuff out of the servo.

Check the wiring connectors at both ends. but don't be surprised when the servo pack up.
