Flashing lights...

My brake fail light was flashing intermittently recently.. ie, start off, no flashing, ride for a while, use brakes - light starts flashing - brakes still work .

Went to the dealer - they hook up $$$$ machine, then ask if the bike has been dropped or over on its side ???
Turns out the brake fluid level was low, so they topped it up and no problems since.
Low fluid was probably due to brake pad wear - so I anticipate some games when I replace the pads and then become overfull

I made sure I used the W word (warranty) as soon as I opened my gob so they did in fact come to the party :beerjug:

hope this helps

Would be agreat help to know what bike you've got :blast , 1100/1150/1200. If 1150 ,is it a servo model ?, etc etc :augie

According to your profile, its a 1150 GS.

This sounds exactly like the symptoms I had a few years ago. IIWY I would have a very close look at the brake light. There are 2 filaments in the bulb - 1 for the running light and 1 for the brake light. When I looked, the thinner filament had a tiny break in the wire - honestly you needed to look hard to notice it but it was there. I reckon that when the brake light was on, the heat expanded the thinner filament and created a circuit again.

I just changed the bulb and haven't had the problem since. :thumb

Still need to know if it's a servo brake model or not.

If it's not, then everything you've just posted is not valid .

sorry for lack of information it is a 2001 model and i do not think it is servo model i will have a look at the rear brake light to check this so thank you for any more suggestions and for information recieved so far
