h ithere,Ihave a 04 gs with 2300 mls, last time out I got a brake failure warning which stayed on. I have a fault code reader that showed the following, internal control module error-analog value of front control pressure sensor. hav'nt a clue what that means so would appreciate any info from anyone who's had the same thanks

Could be due to a low battery voltage giving rise to a faulty transducer output. Make sure battery is fully charged, reset fault code with GS911, test ride and recheck.

I presume you have no yellow or red warning triangles, no ABS warnings on the instrument panel etc and brakes function normally?

battery is ok.have reset codes but they came back, red triangle when on the move brakes not great

Though I have no experience of these fault codes, the error suggests the brake line pressor sensor has failed (or maybe the connection to it) as the reading the computer is getting from it is way off what it should be. I'm guessing again but the ABS system probably needs to know what the brake line pressure is so it can control how it's modulated. With a bit of luck a new pressure sensor may sort it (assuming it's available seperately and not an integral part of the ABS unit) but I'd seek some professional advice before I messed with the brakes

Might also be worth removing the fuel tank then opening up the Servo ABS unit and visually checking the levels of brake fluid inside the integral fluid reservoirs. If one circuit is low, you could get a lack of pressure and cavitating of the pump, leading to a low pressure alarm although I believe you should also see a low level warning on the GS911.

My suspicion is that you may have a faulty Servo ABS pump, brace yourself for the worse as they ain't cheap to replace.

The low fluid warning is the red triangle and "Brake Failure" flashing alternately. I found this by disconnecting one of the fluid level sensors and switching the ignition on when trying to diagnose a brake problem. In my case the dealer's diagnostics showed a high pressure in the rear wheel circuit (I suspect a faulty sensor but that's instinct rather than knowledge) which was cured by BMW providing a new ABS modulator as a goodwill gesture and me paying just under 300 beer tokens to have it fitted. It's always worth talking to a dealer with problems like this, particularly if the bike has a full service history. Chester Motorrad found me the necessary workshop time at very short notice to run the diagnostics and then persuaded BMW to provide the parts. My bike is a 2006 model with 25000 miles.
