ABS Problems

Any ideas,ABS will cut out sometimes whilst braking,sometimes when switching ignition on to start up after rest break or fuel stop.Once back home I can reset it ok and it may perform ok for a couple of days.
Had senors checked,new battery and garage say that the ABS unit must be alright because it resets.They suspect an intermittent wiring fault.Any ideas please,because I'm begining to loose faith in BMW's,having just had the alternator drive belt shred after only 21k miles and the bearing on the drive shaft fail also

Have you got the ABS cancel button?. If so bypass that and try it then.
