Hi all. My abs pump died on my 2008 1200gs. Gs911 said no power to pump. I researched the problem and its apparently the motor. I removed the abs pump, took the motor off. I couldnt get the bearing off the motor shaft to get at the brushes so cleaned it up best I could and re fitted it all. It worked for about 2 weeks now its failed again.
So ive tried motorworks they've not got one. I tried sherlocks and they dont have one. None on ebay. Asked sherlocks if an rt pump would work but they say no as its got a different control module on it. So sod it keep riding, but then I realised, mot due in 4 days f 'in great !
Any ideas were I can get a used pump ?
Cheers, pissed off andy.

Look on YouTube, plenty of videos on how to get at the brushes, or do a search on here there is a thread somewhere with the info you need.

I have searched and watched all the you tube vids , believe me I did all that before I took it off the first time. Not one of them detail how to get the bearing off. I think in my effort to get the bearing off ive damaged it so thought id just fit a used pump instead of cocking about with it all again.

Insulating tape for the mot while your searching?

The was some companies that could rebuild the pumps. May be worth a google around.

Hi Andy
Don't know whether you'd want to have someone else fix it for you. If so it might be worth contacting Steve near Leicester for advice. He fixes them for a fraction of BMW prices. Email: [email protected]
Online at motoscot where you can read about what he does. Tel: 07843056201
Regards
Marjorie

thankyou Marjorie I did look at that site but its a treck from here and I couldn't take it before the Mot ran out. Also because I've all ready had the motor off the pump and possibly damaged the bearing I'm not sure it can be repaired. I just thought a used one would be the quickest and most simple fix. I honestly thought any rt r or s one would be the same as the gs one. Never mind. I'll hopefully find a used one but its a bit worrying when the two big BMW breakers don't have one.

Hi, not totally sure the abs light is part of the mot, as long as the brakes work it may pass with an advisory..
Good luck..
