I have alternating flasing lights indicating some sort of problem with the ABS. It began shortly after the bike was dropped at zero miles an hour by my brother in law on uneven ground. When I walked back up the track to see where he had got to the bike was on it's side such that the rear wheel would have carried on turning relative to the front wheel - not sure if that is significant but maybe.

Bike is an 05 1150GS Adventure with servo brakes.

What is the reset procedure - tried a search but can't find the info I need.

1) Turn ignition off.
2) Remove the seat.
3) Locate the diagnostics plug behind the battery.
(It's for diagnostics so is not connected to anything).
4) Connect an end of wire to the brown/blue wire pin .
5) Clip the other end firmly to ground.
6) Turn ignition on. Note that the two ABS lights continue flashing alternately.
7) Hold ABS button down for 8 seconds.
The bottom ABS light should stay on, the top one off.
Release the ABS button.
8) If the reset is successful, both ABS lights come on.

Thanks .....

Haven't got a brown/blue wire at the diagnostic plug, got

Brown/Black
Brown
Yellow/Grey
Red/Yellow
Blue

Which one should I use ??

Still struggling to sort this out, but thanks Steve and Bigtwin for your help to this point.

Have tried the Brown/Black wire as I have no Brown/Blue on the diagnostic plug.

Several attempts, used -ve battery terminal as earth.

Is it a dealer reset job ??

The ABS and servo are working fine but the flashing lights are driving me nuts !!

Not within typing distance of my bike at the mo.

Who can tell Brewster which wire it is by ref to pisition in the block - or a picture??

It may not reset - Something may have got damaged when the bike was dropped.

Are both brake switches working ? Are the wheel sensors undamaged ?

Check the fluid in the control circuits ( Pressure modulator), fluid may have overflowed. If this is the problem the lights should reset.

Gen OFF, ABS ON = Only residual braking in both circuits.
Gen OFF, ABS flashes at 1Hz = ABS not available. Pull-away test not completed.
Gen OFF, ABS flashes at 4Hz = Only residual braking function available in both circuits.
Gen ON, ABS off = rear light/brake light defective.
Gen ON, ABS flashes at 1 Hz = At least one brake circuit without ABS.
Gen ON, ABS flashes at 4Hz =At least one brake circuit in residual braking function mode.
Gen AND ABS flashing alternately at 1Hz = Fluid level in Intergral ABS too low.Low-voltage

Checked the brake switches - I can here the micro switches clicking when I operate the lever and pedal and the brake light comes on fine.

Bike was dropped onto it's right hand side so the front wheel sensor was in fesh air. I've checked the rear sensor visually and there are no marks or scuffs on it so I don't think it came into contact with the ground.

The bike was on it's side for probably 10 mins in total. I checked the rear brake reservoir and the fluid level was fine. Is there anywhere else it could have leaked from in the period that I could check ??

Thanks for help so far

Look under your tank behind the battery box. Check this link at Real OEM.com for a diagram, see the VENT HOSE WITH COVER I-ABS. open the covers and look in.

and the brake light comes on fine.
Sorry if this is stating the obvious (or asking an obvious question) but when you say the brake light works okay, have you removed the bulb(s) in the tail-lamp unit and checked them?

Are you familiar with the dual voltage guard that will illuminate one or the other bulb when one fails (it will illuminate the warning light)?
