Hi Folks,

Strange one to sort out! I have just exchanged my front wheel ie

GS R1100 95 from heavily pitted to to decent nick front wheel .....

The problem is ABS !! I have the usual out of sync lights flashing so I reset

the ABS to get them in sync so far so good, after pulling away lights

extinguish fine then another 50 yrds or so ABS lights come back on out of

sync, after applying front brake I have feedback through handbrake of judder

then hand brake goes rock solid and no front brake !! after an altercation with

the said brake lever brake leverage returns but then still the ABS lights out of

sync.

After trying a reset acouple of times back to square one !.......I have

checked ABS sensor on front wheel which seems to be correct gap

Many thanks Mack..........

i'd say your disc isn't in the centre of both its disc calipers.

double check this cos some are slightly different.

There is a clearance setting from ABS to toothed ring, have you checked it?
The out of sync lamps should clear themselves when the thing sets.

Brakes

ABS will be the sensor gap, the lable on the forks tells you what it should be shims shouldbe on the sensor body. The other problem will be mechanical
and need s sorting fast as the abs will not do this. Put your old whel back and I'll bet your probs dissapear.

Hi Motomartin,

I will check the disc's to see if that's the problem thanks !

and Binridin I will double check the gap thanks, Davevegs yes I agree it could

return to normal if I put the old wheel back but thats not my option, the

newish wheel came with ABS ring and disc's so when the problem arose I

thought right take off disc's and ABS ring and replace with originals off old

wheel, I did that and back to square one no diff !!! any more help much

appreciated....

Best regards Mack....
