ABS / Servo unit

I dont think he said they dont fit, just that cant mix them with a servo/abs unit.

"An ABS unit (from an 1100 or 1150) is absolutely non compatable in any way shape or form with a servo/abs unit."

However Littledumptruck was talking about removing the original servo/abs unit and fitting an earlier non servo abs unit which surely would be possible, even if expense may rule it out, so Steptoe's reply does not seem to answer the question he asked.

Be as surprised as you want -
The whole loom must be changed,(and the switch gear as the plugs are different) and you can't use a twin spark loom on a single spark bike, the ABS sensors are different, the brake light switches front and rear, the ABS rings on the wheels.
And no doubt a few more things that i haven't thought of in the 20 seconds it's taken just to think of the obvious.

I'm surprised at that. This guy is talking about an 1150, I'd understand if he was talking about a 1200, but a servo'd 1150 is still basically the same as an 1100 or early 1150.

The 1200 unit is basically the same as an 1150 servo unit.

The 1100/ 1150 abs unit is nothing like the 1150 servo unit. For a start all the brake lights and rear lights go through the servo unit (it's what makes it work), they don't on the abs only unit.
You can simply unplug an abs only unit and it'll make no difference to the bike at all, it'll just disarm the abs.

Simply unplugging a servo unit and you'll lose the brakes, brake lights, rear light.

. Wasn't the later servo abs unit in the same place?

The engine is in the same place on a 1200 and an 1100. So in that case it must be a simple case of swopping them around as well. :thumb2
