Does anyone know if it is possible to fit an ABS hydro unit from an 1100GS to the 1150GS?.
The BWM part numbers are different, but the ABS controller pin numbers look the same so should be functionally identical and Motorworks dont list Hydro units seperately.

I had often wondered if it was possible to fit the earlier non servo unit to our bikes.
I did an absectomy earlier this year and don’t miss the servos but I would still like to have abs on the bike, how big a job is it to fit an 1100 unit? Is it a diy job?

Steptoe, if you wish to keep this knowledge to yourself I respect that, after all fixing Beemers is how you make a living and your knowlege has been earned the hard way.

It's a big job fitting an ABS unit to a servo/ABS bike. I wouldn't bother doing it and i don't know of anyone that has. Works out cheaper and less bother just buying one with only ABS fitted.

A quick think just for starters - Replace the whole loom, brake switches, solid brake lines, instrument abs lights (you might be able to get away with those).
I expect they'll be a couple more spanners laying in wait that i've missed.
