I've recently put in the accelerator module from belgium and I think it makes a difference in acceleration and it certainly backfires less when I'm being enthusiastic on the back roads, but not being a technical sort of chap would like a bit of help.
When I bought the bike it had the steptoe ccp mod wiring in the fuse box, which I took out when I put the AM in. Would it be good to run with the two together - would it make it better- or would they conflict or confuse it making it run like a bag of spanners and generally bugger up the whole works? Anybody done it?

Accelerator

Quick Bump

As I am running the same set up and was wondering if it was worth getting
a accelerator link.

If you have a spare £30 or so it might well be worth it, I'm glad I did it.
I think it's smoother in the lower revs, so pulls better, or so it feels to me. Certainly backfires less so that would imply better fuelling as modern bikes run so lean. It's a lot cheaper than a power commander........
I came to the GSA after a series of Pans and a V-Strom, all more powerful bikes. While I quickly came to appreciate the GSA - especially the handling - I rued the lesser performance unless really working the motor and using the gearbox. ( Which I'm more than happy to do most of the time, but if you're not in that 'mode' then it can be rather wearing. )
The AM has made me feel I can overtake a bit easier, so thats a good thing, albeit a personal view. That's also why I was wondering if running the CCP with it would trick the clever bits in it into making it even better still.

Mine arrived and was installed in 5 minutes. Because it's "plug and play" I tried several routes and twistys with the AM and Stock. The AM is a whole lot cleaner on pickup. However if you're trying to remove surging it doesn't do much!:Motomartin
