Accessory plug polarity????

I'm just fitting a BMW accessory plug to my optimate, so that I can maintain the battery throught accessory socket.

Which is positive and which is negative? The central pin, or the outer ring?

Is there not a plastic push connector to join the two. there was on the one I bought?

There is an adapter

..but it is an extra.

I bought my Optimate from SLM and the spares man said that there is not an adapter and that they always sell a plug for a IDY solution and of course sacrificing one of the leads from the standard package.

I chose to buy the adapter separately so that the charger can be hard wired to t'other bike and have the clips for other bikes/vehicles etc.

My optimate included a cigar socket plug. twist the red part off (it is designed to come off) and it fits the socket on the GS

Yep the red part twists off to give an GS size socket. You do not have to buy an extra.
