quick question does the clocks need to be removed to fit accessory bar.
thanks

If its the bar that fits above and across the dials with pivot mounts then no.:thumb

yip it the one that goes above the clocks ,allthough i dont know about pivot points the bar looks a solid thing.:thumb2

I just fitted one of these.

I had the screen off anyway, so I just pulled the headlight forward (the clocks are attached to it), made it much easier as it is tight in there.

A note of caution. The torx screws that secure this bar are LOCTITED in. I managed to shear 1 off when removing it. The headlamp supports are £96 if you cannot get the screw out. Try a little heat to melt the LOCTITE if you can.

I managed it !!

It was bloody fiddly but managed it using a flexible extension bar to get to the two small Torx either side.

It just takes a liitle patience.

thanks guys,i think i got a 1/4 drive with a woggle on the end for difficult access.
cheers

Having done it a couple of times due to not being able to make up my mind about the bar :blast, the fastest easiest way is to remove the screen, 2 bolts 2 knobs, then the headlight complete with gauges - 2 bolts and a couple of electrical plugs. This gives full access to fit the bar. Biggest part of the job is then resetting the clock to the correct time :D

I left all the cables connected. Moving the clocks/headlight aside gives plenty of room to work

+1
Only takes 2 mins to take the headlight/clocks out and it saves you slipping and scratching them

Thanks. I never thought about it. once they were out and moved to the side I was just happy to get going. Th four bolts for the satnav were an absolute pig to get out

I know this ian old post...but did you fit to both the difficult torx screws, or just to the top one? The image from NN shows it just in the top one. I have just done mine and it seemed normal to brace it on both (seeing as it ships with four bolts)....I did note that having it only on the top screw would goive loads more adjustment but it didnt make sense. Am I going to have to undo and move it higher?

Are you fitting the NN bar rather than the BMW version? For the BMW bar all 4 bolts need to be refitted .... and I would have thought the same would be the case for the NN bar!
