I am new to the club and am about to order my first GS. My dream bike, like a few others on the site, is the Adventure but I cant quite stretch to that .

I intend to order a non-abs GS1150 and spec it up a bit. I intend to add;

Heated Grips (BMWs own)
Handguards ( BMWs own)
Engine Bars (Any suggestions?)
Adventure beak ( It only costs £20!)
A top box ( The BMW one seems a bit steep at around £270 inc the mounting plate)

I am open to suggestions on what you guys ( and possibly gals ) would say are your best three buys/accessories and where to find them & at what cost.

I intend to use the bike primarily for commuting and an annual continental trip but mainly I want it to look mean like the Adventure.

Over to you........................

Hi Rushy,
Why go for no abs ? I'd go for abs and heated grips and pick up a top box in for sale or wanted. As for the rest I usually just add to the bike as I get the cash. Get abercis handguards alot better than bmw. Anyway welcome to the world of GS hope to see you on the road.

Gates - have you got a white van then ?

Shite time of year to be selling my bike - I have had zero interest so far other than a couple of emails asking where in the country I am.

Also, two people contacted me wanting to talk about a swap, but both bottled out when I suggested meeting up. My guess is they were both too attached to their GS's and couldn't bear the thought of parting company.

I have been offered £2,500-£2,800 in part-ex, subject to it being seen by SPC and C&W, but I know it's worth more so I'll hold out for a bit and see if anyone bites at £3,395 o.n.o.

So, you know you want the adventure - we go to SPC, chop my bike in for their ADV, you take that and I take yours and we work out how much we each have to give SPC.

You take the low seat from yours and put the normal one back, and I may need to change the handguards to get it you-know-where. Deal done :D

You serious about Germany ?

Handguards were standard on my bike.

A colourmatched GIVI topbox & plate are under £100

Heated Grips are a must-have.

H&B crashbars get the best write-ups

ABS is a waste of money IMHO, but others would disagree...

Sorry not willing to show pictures, due to copy rights,

You either want them or you don`t.

I`m not having you lot copying my work, I have three children and a family to support.

I know exactly what you will do you will be straight off to the local wicker basket makers and try to save your selfs £29.99.

Well I`m not going to let you do that, you lot are all the same, you want something for nothing.:D

Bugger, just as I thought I'd cracked it,some basterd comes up with a better luggage system.Yah boo shucks.:(

Too late Bakes - your design has been stolen already. This is my local BMW motorcycle accessory dealer. So we're stealing the food out of your children's mouths now. :(

This place is four doors away from my house. He will make BMW panniers for anyone.
