ACE Cafe - 19-Feb

ACE CAFE, Overland & Adventure Day Sunday 19th Feb

A small party of East Anglians leaving from Here aiming to be there for a late breakfast. ( I recommend the sausage sandwiches)

We'll see you there. :jager

Oakdene to the Ace

I'll be meeting you lot at the Oakdene for around 7, what route do you plan to take from there? I'd like meet up with El Tel of this parish, and he lives in the direction of the Blackwall Tunnel, which is perfect for the North Circular ball breaker you have to endure for the Ace. Is that the preferred route?

Jacko, You know how I plan my routes!!
Yep can include the tunnel - no problem. PM me that pickup point if you want.

... of the Blackwall Tunnel, which is perfect for the North Circular ball breaker you have to endure for the Ace.

The North Circular (A406) takes you miles out of your way from the Blackwall Tunnel.

It's Sunday morning, no traffic.

Blackwall Tunnel, down the A13, right to Shoreditch, Old Street, Angel, Upper Street, (or A1200 New Road / Cannonbury road), Holloway Road A1, to N Circular, turn left.

Or better: Hack across to the Marylebone Road, then up the A5 (to avoid the mess caused by the Westway being shut) Willesden Lane / Church Road (A4003), left A406.

Pah to that, from the sunny south East forget your circulars they are heinous at the best of times... A2/A20 to New Cross, through Peckham (quickly), Camberwell, Oval, Vauxhall, over the open sewer then left, now enjoy the best bit cruising along the Thames, Grosvener Road, Chelsea Embankment past the Royal Hospital, up past Worlds End Estate, don't forget to give Ma Steppers a wave straight across Kings Rd & Fulham Rd, Steppers will be parked up with tesco carrier over the number plate of his Harldy drinking cappuccino and San Pellegrino (with fresh lime).

Up past Earls Court dodging the exodus of lemmings from tube station to earls court entrance completely overlooking you and the rest of the traffic on the Warwick Road. Straight over the Cromwell Road, Bristol Garage and the most expensive petrol station in the world opposite (never seen a single car in there filling up). Over Kensington High St (I used to work in Tecno Cameras here). On up Holland road to Shepherds Bush roundabout now pre the Talgarth probs I'd have continued straight up the West Cross Way keeping Westfield Shopping Centre on your left on the the Westway (A40) itself.

Then left along the A40 until you meet the A406 then take that for all of 2 minutes until you can smell the mouldy sausages and this weekend the fumes of the petrol stoves and kelly kettles in the car park.

I doubt the Westway will be a problem for bikes but if you don't want to risk it spin left at Shepherds Bush r/bout, slip around the Green passing the Bush Theatre and up the market and continue along here to Acton, turn right there and pick up the A40 at North Acton.

Jobs a good 'un :thumb

Keith Bouncer and myself are meeting at The Oakdene, Wrotham, Kent @ 07:30 for brekky and then getting to Ace for about 09:00ish. Should you wish to join us then meet @ Oakdene.

I'll have some of that.
