My kids both have Acer aspire 5738z laptops and have killed the only remaining mains charger we have and I am trying to get a genuine replacement. I bought a cheap copy a while ago from Amazon when the first one died but it conked out fairly quickly due a badly fitting plug (laptop end) overheating and melting.
The problem is there are so many suppliers out there I need a recommendation as I don't want another cheap chinese copy. Anyone out there used a company they would recommend?

Pc world do a replacement just bought one for an acer... Better quality then eBay crap

Get a Delta AC adaptor from play.com - they are OE suppliers to Acer, Dell etc.

It will still be made in China, though!

Same item cheaper here http://www.charger4u.co.uk/ but I have never ordered from them

The Delta unit has a 12 month warranty.

+1 for Maplins. I get through about 10 manufacturers chargers a year and always replace them with one from Maplin. Never had one of them fail. They are usually about £40-£45 which is a damn site cheaper than the manufacturers ones as well.

Thanks for the suggestions , went with Wessies one and ordered a Delta from Play.com on Thursday with free postage. Expected them to take 3/4 days as per website, it turned up next morning recorded delivery and seems to fit snugly so well pleased so far.
