Pumpy bought this tank late last year through Ebay, advertised as fitting a DR350. Went to fit it recently & found that it won't fit. I've searched the internet, it looks nothing like the tank that Acerbis make for the DR350 (same for all models & years).

Hoping someone can identify it - most unusual feature is that the forward mounting points are staggered & not in line with each other as most mounting points are:

Also notice that the shape of the tank varies on each side from the fuel tap back - any ideas what it will fit? Hoping that the staggered mountings will provide a clue, can't be many bikes like that?

I've contacted Bert Harkins who are now the Acerbis importers & given them the numbers moulded in to the underside of the tank but no luck yet.

A loaf of Pumpy's finest homemade German bread to whoever ID's the tank, you'll have to collect the bread though as it's heavy enough to make postage prohibitively expensive. :augie :thumb

I'm sure the mounting points on my Dr350 acerbis tank were the same as that one did you get a fitting kit with it ?
I've sold my 350 but the new owners not collected it yet,it's hidden in a mates barn just now if your desperate I could take a run up with the camera.
I pm'd Ela about this tank Steve :o :blast

This joke didn't really work, didn't it?

Here's the link to the page Possu was on about.

Thanks for your offer, Forry - if nobody else can help us further, we might take you up on it. You'd get even two loaves of German bread then... :D

If it helps - the part number is TÜ1 6180591, then it has a lot of year stamps from 92 to 97 and another number right under the mounting holes: 10324/91.

Thanks! :thumb2

The Acerbis tank came with a set of combined spacers & mounts which screw in to the frame above the cylinder head. The width of the tunnel on the Acerbis tank is at least twice that on a standard DR350 tank. In addition, the standard DR350 mounts consist of a small stub protruding either side of the frame toped off with a push on rubber mount, no threads or similar for any additional mounting hardware to fasten to.

Steve the mounts for mine fitted on to the bolts on the top engine mount one left and one on the right making them offset.
Found some photos of my tank :eyesdown

Thanks, Forry, that's very helpful. :thumb2

We'll have another go at the weekend - if the tank fits you will get your German bread reward in Graigfechan (Possu will carry the load in the car in case you were wondering... :augie).
