ACF-50 application

Is there an easy way to put this stuff on.? The little pump action squirty bottle failed after a few minutes, I then tried a plant sprayer pump up thing that completely clogged up so resorted to wiping everything over with a cloth soaked in the stuff, laborious and I couldn’t get into all the fiddly places I wanted to.

Anyone got a good simple way of applying ACF-50.?
 
I apply it with an external mix spray gun. I warm up the ACF50 in the airing cupboard for a few days before I use it. Important to shake it up well because it does settle down into different consistences when stood in the container.
 
I did the shake well very well but it still clogged the nozzle of the sprayer, maybe I should try warming it up a bit.
 
Best way I found is to use an air compressor and spray gun. This applies it thinly in a mist. I bought a small sgs compressor for this.
If you are going to use a garden spray gun it will help if you gently warm the acf by putting it in a bucket of warm water for a while...

Use the pump spray thing. Fill it, then stand it in hot water for 10 minutes, which will thin the oil sufficiently for it to spray perfectly.
 
Compressor helps greatly.

But I applied it for years using their own spray cans or other standard spray cans. Just warm it up beforehand.
 
If using it straight from the can then another vote for the 'warm it up first' approach from me.

I normally just put the can in a bowl of warm water for half an hour then give it a good shake for 2-3 minutes before use.
 
As others have said, I warm it up first, but I also use a brush for the bits near the brakes.
 
I have some ACF in a glass bottle which I submerge into a measuring jub with just below boiling water for 5 minutes. Then into a HVLP gun and compressor to apply.
 
Judging by the replies, i would say it's quite unanimous that I need to warm the oil first, think I'll have to try this next weekend

I am with the compressor and spray gun.
I keep a small cheap touch up gun full of ACF 50 , 150 psi from the compressor ,no need to warm it and the application is a very fine mist.
 
I'm in the air compressor camp but the ACF50 has to be warmed up first. The mist is great, it gets everywhere so remember to cover the brakes tyres etc
When I open the garage door it looks like a prince video, purple smoke everywhere

Or you could buy the aerosol version much easier to apply, i used the aerosol version for a couple of years no bother then got the other stuff which is less easy to apply and the spray pump thing is crap.
 
never had a bottle - is it different ? on the spray can I just squirt on to a stiff paint brush and stipple it on to the nooks and crannies
don't get in on the brake discs they stop working for a year or so

Interesting point, does anything get ACF-50 off discs.? ( just thinking accidental over spray )

ACF-50 overspray can be removed with brake cleaner and clean rags or tissue.
