Hi all

I like many of you, use ACF 50 to protect my pride and joy I have brought several of the aerosol cans and find them very irritating in the fact that the spray nozzle blocks, even after shaking the can for ages.

I end up with a half full can and can hardly get a dribble out,

has any of you had this issue and have you any tips on using it

Have you tried warming the can up by putting it in warm water first?

I use the pump spray that they supply with the big bottle of the stuff and that also blocks. I end up painting it on with a paint brush.

Keep the can in the house. They seem too block if left in the cold.

I have some on order and having never used it before I've been recommended by the dealer to soak a rag in it then wipe over with the rag as required.

I'm used to more reliable and sturdy Japanese engineering that doesn't fall apart at the mere sight of a bit of road grime.

If you have access to a air compressor you are better off getting a cheap spray gun and buying the litre bottle as it gives a very fine mist and is easier to get in the awkward spots.
If not as others have said warm the can first.

It also goes a lot further this way, I have done my bike several times and a couple of mates bikes with the compressor and not used 1/4 of a bottle yet, it looks when misting it up you are blasting it all over the neighbourhood, but it gets everywhere on the bike and uses very little product.

You can get a cheap compressor and spray gun for under £100

Yes I have warmed it up but still blocks I think I may go down the route of buying it in the litre bottle at least then I can use a pump spray

ive also kept the old nozzles and swap them over when it blocks then clean them for next use.

Hi I have been using ACF 50 for about 4 years on my Jap bikes and a Harley all did not suffer any corrosion issues, compared to 30 plus years of varying Jap bikes which did suffer prior to finding out about ACF.

I used the Harley for 2 years and 24,000 miles running it all year it was covered in salt for months but come summer and a pressure wash it came up looking like new underneath, its brilliant stuff.

I have just brought my first new bike since 1997 GS 1200 wc and want to give it a coating prior to any damp or wet riding.

you wont be disappointed its. really good stuff. it also protects and creaps in to the wiring plugs and seals them too.

about 4 years ago when I was first recommended it just like you, I screw two metal washers to the garden fence I sprayed one with ACF50 and nothing on the other now 4 years on and no further applications the treated washer is still shiny metal the other is rusty.

Forget about using the can. It needs to be atomized ... Go and get your bike done by allyearbiker. Amazing protection for your new toy.

A good answer for a quick result You can track down a compressor and spray gun at your leisure, but get the bike coated ASAP!

Good idea but I will give it a coating with what ive got even if it is a pain, then hopefully have a compressor and gun soon the compressor will be handy any way.

out of interest what does allyearbjker charge to coat a bike.

My local one (Northampton) charge £60 for the pre-clean and ACF50 application, that was if I rode it to them.

I believe they hold 'events' at various locations or if you get a few of mates together will come out and do a group session.

I stick mine in a bowl of hot water for 20 minutes then spray the whole thing into one of those plastic garden hand sprayers and twist the nozzle to mist...and mist the bike

Paraffin gun and a compressor, works every time and gets right into all the nooks.

As above or simply buy an £8 model air spray gun with a can of compressed air. Spray the ACF50 into the supplied bottle & off u go. Better & cheaper than Allyearbiker

Not better than Allyearbiker as the process also requires the bike to be fully cleaned in prep for protection. Sixty quid is ridiculously little for what they do and how well they do it
