ACF50

I just ordered one from Nippy Normans.
Thanks for the hint. :beerjug:

My bike will spend 3 months in a parking place in Finland in the winter.
A lot of salt in the roads before and after the stay and a lot of snow in the parking place during the winter.

I hope this helps my bike to survive.

It's good stuff.

Give the bike a good wash first, let it dry and then put the ACF-50 can in a bucket of very hot water while you mask off brake disks / tyres etc.

Then give it a good spray :thumb2

OK, I will do that.
Thanks.

acf50 not arrived yet.:nenau

Steptoes brake pads arrived virtually next day. :thumb2

Spark plugs from elsewhere arrived within 3 days.

e mailed them asking where it is, this was on the 20th, they have not bothered to reply. I think their customer service is crap.

I have now used ACF for my bike and it does great things.

One question.

I used it today for a fuel quick coupling because we couldn't get the couplings to snap together.
We didn't have any other spray like silicone or something.
After spraying some ACF into the coupling male part it worked fine and snapped together fine.

Does ACF affect the O-rings in some bad way? In those fuel quick connectors.

ACF50 is fine in contact with o-rings etc :thumb2

Never used it before but will this winter - do you spray *everything* but the obvious brake pads etc or concentrate on things like Alternator plate and so on?

I assume its heat proof? Sorry for being ignorant on this stuff :nenau Also I tend to use the bike in winter but wash it on a regular basis to keep the salt down. Do I need to with this stuff or can I relax more on my cleaning regime?

Just did mine this weekend. Fcuk does it stink when burning but it is one of the smells of fall :D. The neighbours love the white smoke. I took a Tesco bag to mask the brakes but despite getting a little on the pads I had to go around the block four times to burn the stuff off. Great product but be very careful for about 20 miles as excess can spin off the wheel rims onto the tyres and make sure you have brakes :eek. The stuff goes everywhere but I try to keep it on the metal. Also put some paper or cardboard down where you park it for the first couple of days cause it is a bitch to get off the pavement or garage floor.

I think I paid £25 for two cans plus some grease from Nippy Normans. Sometimes the post from Devon is not that Nippy.

When I used Scottoiler I tended to wash the bike (even when it was -10C :eek ), then before putting it away in the garage spray it all over so it could dry during the night. Presumably this stuff also dries off, but the point about the brakes is noted Cookie :thumb2

when using on delicate parts-
spray some in the lid and apply using a paint brush :thumb
[never had to " to burn the stuff off ". ]

It will go over anything, but no it isnt heat proof, it will "burn off" your exhaust / pipes etc that get hot.

Keep it off your pads and discs (obviously).

It will go over plastics, in fact it gives black plastics a sheen - don't go apes*it with it, there is no need, a little goes a long way.

Fantastic stuff.

Your bike will look like crap because it attracts the road crap to it and it sticks to it, but dont worry, come the Spring and you clean your bike (I use SDOC100) it will come back shiney shiney :thumb2

I find the Scottoiler stuff to be not very good. Still have a half bottle.

It's almost impossible not to get some on some of the hot parts of the bike and some will burn off. Beside you look cool going down the high street.

I see we are still only on page 3.

Will give that SDOC stuff a try in the spring. Have been using Muckoff and everyone says that SDOC is the dogs.

Wot the Dude says :thumb2

I usually hose my bike down mid winter to get the worst of the stuck on crap off it. Doesn't affect the ACF.

I believe Mucoff has a bad reputation on BMW's - supposed to discolour the powdercoat or something :nenau I use SDOC or Castrol Greentec (in an SDOC bottle as the sprayer is better).

still can't see why you get it on exhausts...... 5 pager :aidan
