Achill - a few snaps

Nice pics Bin :thumb2

Doesn't the West look stunning in that bright but slightly cloudy weather. And you captured it really well :clap

Jockser,
I think the country is gorgeous, fortunately the weather keeps the hordes away, so instead of cursing it, we should be giving thanks for it.
Had a good spin back via Roscommon, and along the now empty N4 from Tyrellspass to Kinnegad - freaky!
Thanks for a great weekend, never went to the Sheffreys before!
Bin

Looking at it there ya can see how a large volume of water combined with the rocks & soil from the landslide could have a detrimental effect on the bridge with such small openings to let the stuff through. The normal, much larger, span with a narrower central support might have fared better :nenau

You're right of course but the bikin' is much nicer when it's not pishin' down. Last weekends conditions were, to my mind, optimal - not too warm & just enough rain to keep the dust down :augie

Nice, isn't it ? The bottom end of Doo Lough Pass & Killary is a beaut too but there's something about the peace & isolation as you head along the Sheeffry Hills that I love. That & the road into Lough Nafooey are among my favorite biking roads :D

On our way home on Sunday evening De Crowe lead myself & Daithi back down Doo Lough, round into Leenane, to Maam & Maan Cross (between which we met up with Johnny Pan who was escorting a bicycle run) & down into Galway before parting company in Kilcolgan. Another cracking run with a shower at the Achill end but otherwise a beautiful evening :bounce1

Bin,
Fabulous photos showing Achill in it's true glory.:bow
Unfortunately the only experiences I have of Achill - even as a child is a cold place either raining or steeped in a thick mist. The weather was awful last year when I was there. The Tossers were very lucky this year:aidan
