Continuing thinning down if my hifi kit, I have a rare opportunity for someone to acquire my cherished Acoustic Signature Double-X Neo (newer single belt drive version) finished in the desirable Ebony Makassar veneer. I have two TT's and would like to raise funds for another project by selling this one.
The plinth is made from constrained sandwich of alloy/high density fibre board and hand finished by Sonus Faber in a Maskassar ebony veneer. Platter is a solid heavy mass ally platter (22lbs on its own) machined to accept Acoustic Signature's proprietary "damping rods" made from solid brass bar. A single square section belt, selected for minimal transfer of motor vibrations is driven by an electronically speed controlled motor (which maintains a constant speed irrespective of incoming mains fluctuations).
This deck is unique in that it (unlike cheaper decks in the range) uses Acoustic Signature's diamond coated (plasma coated) spindle rotating in a pre-lubed phosphor bronze cup for utterly silent rotation manufactured to exacting standards, (the same bearing design as used in their £100K decks!) and is warranted for the life of the turntable, which also carries the remainder of its 15 year warranty. I bought it 3 1/2 years ago from Elite Audio in Scotland as a nearly new, ex-dem deck. The deck on its own now costs £5,280 minus arm.
The arm fitted is Acoustic Signature's own Neo TA-1000, fully adjustable for VTF, Azimuth and tonearm pillar height is adjustable. It uses a dampoed twin carbon fibre arm mated to a cnc alloy yoke using precision miniature bearings from SKF. The tonearm mounting board/collar comes with it and it's essentially Rega geometry (222 spindle to pivot) but uses a Logfren A geometry for set up.
Also included in the sale is the one-off custom dust cover using cnc machined pillars for corect height above the tonearm. I will throw in a low hours low output moving coil cartridge (perhaps 200 hrs total use) Hana SL using a Shibata profile stylus and high end Audioquest Yosemite 5 pin Din to twin RCA connecting cable to connect with yout phono input or phonostage.
The new cost of this set up is:
TT = £5,280
Arm = £1,995
Cartridge = £650
Audioquest cable: = £485
Total set up cost: £8,410.
I am looking for a very reasonable £4,000 all in, and would prefer buyer collects due the substantial all up weight but do have all of the original packing but it's likely to be £75 fully insured courier costs if you want it couriered at YOUR risk (I cannot be held liable for any damage in transit) otherwise pick up from GL11. You'll not find another anywhere in the UK with this arm, to this spec cheaper.
This is a fabulous sounding high end turntable with overwhelmingly positive reviews on-line. One of the lowest noise floors you'll ever get from vinyl replay and a very pretty deck to boot!
Dust cover.
