I'm thinking of planning an ACT UK trip ('Adventure Country Tracks', think of it as TET lite) at the end of August or beginning of September. Anyone else fancy it ? Good to have company and someone to help with gates. Probably thinking B&B's rather than camping.

I'm not sure I'll get it all done, but probably have about 4/5 days.

This is a great route. I wish I could join.

I was (loosely) planning with a friend the Northern bit (coast by coast).
He is waaaay better than me offroad. So the disparity (over a longer journey) put me off a bit, as he was also more inclined on more complex sections rather than just ACT.

I don't think I'm left with enough vacation days to do this in September, sadly. Might have to wait next spring.

I'm not totally sure how many days I will do, but if you want to join for a day or so, that's possible too. It's early stage planning at the moment, but would like to get it done this year.

I’m guessing he’ll be on his newish KTM 390 R
I could be interested in this as well …. Dates depending etc and I’ll be on my 701 I expect … are the Isle of Man waypoints part of the plan?

Which way are you going on the Welsh section ? North to South?

There are no lanes in Liverpool, Wirral or Cheshire. So the off-road will start in Wales for that leg.

A couple of builds/answers. it might make sense to chunk it up a bit into Wales, IOM, then the Coast to Coast, I'm not precious about doing it in one trip.

What bike are you planning on doing it on?

As @Blacknbluex2 mentions, its my 390 Adventure R, but any adventure bike with decent 50/50 or more tyres and a willing pilot should be able to make it, this vid shows 2 GS's. I do expect a couple of more challenging sections for ADV bikes, but nothing too awful. If you look at the start of the video linked below a few minutes in they hit the first lane and it wasn't exactly a flat gravel road to ease you in to the route. Saying that its apparently about 33% trail versus road.

Yes exactly that, I'm now thinking of doing Wales as one trip, then IOM of another, but appreciate it might make sense to carry on to IoM from the Wales route. I dont want to book a load of stuff in IoM and then find myself held up in Wales for any reason. I don't want to rush the sections.

South to North would be my preference so starting around the Brecon Beacons.
