Morning all
I’ve a 1300 GSA with adaptive height. When I bought it I had no idea that there’s also adaptive height comfort available which lowers the bike by another 2cm, I’m a shortarse and this would have been useful. It would appear that the salesman didn’t know either as he never asked “which one would sir like”
Anyone know what the difference is ? I suspect that it’s hardware like shocks , centre stand and side stand .
As you can probably guess, my dealer doesn’t know 😳
Alternatively I’ve seen kind offers of £1000 per inch of extra height gain via a sledgehammer and a stretching table from a reputable Tosser.
I’ve had too much time off work recently due to seven broken ribs so that option might be viable when I’ve retired 🤣

On the previous generations, lowering was a combination of suspension, seat and side / centre stand.

Seat width is a big factor to look at , if the seat is wider than the last generations then you may not see the benefits you expect from lowering

My bike lowers when you slow down and then rises when you go over 40mph (I recall) - if you are short I thought this would be ideal as it retains the designed geometry and lets you get your feet down when you need to.

You are right in your thinking, the difference between adaptive ride height comfort versus standard adaptive ride height is 20mm the side stand is also different together with the shocks and springs.
You could try the Daytona M-Star Pro Gore Tex boots you would gain 2.5 cm height in the heels and 0.8 cm in the toes. This may be your cheapest option in resolving your problem.

only if you have narrow & long feet!

I think 7 is the smallest they do

Thanks, I thought it would be expensive. I can manage as I’m quite used to it but as with everything an extra inch is always welcome 😁

Where hardware is missing, you can always throw technique at it :)

Here's some inspiration from another shortarse:

I have size 41 and wide, talk to Motolegends they stock wide and regular as well. I believe mine is standard and I have wide feet. G UK or EE US.

I'm just 5'3" with a 28" inside leg.

My 1300 has the auto height adjustment & the factory low seat. I've also had an extra lug welded to the side stand much further up so getting the bike off the stand is much easier.

The other marginal trick I use is removing the rubber bungs from the underside of the seat. I was worried this might impact comfort, but the seat shape just seems to work for me + on tour I use a Cool cover.

I got my Daytona Max Sports GTX from Motolegends in size 41, but I only wear them when it's cold or I'm touring with a bit of extra weight on the bike. Most of the time I ride in TCS Street boots.
