Hi,

I recently purchased and fitted 2nd hand Additional LED headlamp set for 2014 R1200GS.
The manual states:
"Sometimes it is necessary, that the LED lamps has to be registered in the main control unit to work,
This can only be done by a BMW workshop."

Do you know how much does BMW typically charge for it? I assume it is 5min job for them?

Thanks
Jake

Depends how good a relationship you have with your local dealer. It could vary from nothing to £50.

Worth calling a few of your locals and get some quotes. The ECU needs to be programmed to recognise the additional lights in the canbus system.

Thank you very much.
For reference: I was quoted £54 at one dealer and £0 at the other :)
It's just a pity I need to ride extra 80 miles to do it :)

Hi guys

Picked all the bits from my local BMW stealer and had a look at the lot. The bracketing looks easy enough, suppose I have to work with all the panels in placed to fit this lot. The wiring harness have five plugs, two for the light, one for the switch and the hunt is one for the mates of the remaining two. These are "keyed" and can only go with the correct "mates", correct?

These lights are massive heat sinks with a lens mounted on the front. Worth the money, no bloody way!

Regards
