The Himalayan stands almost at vertical, when on its side stand.

This is not a problem as regards height. It can though be a problem if the ground on the left side of the bike rises up, as the bike is all but overbalanced.

Hitchcocks sell an adjustable side stand. I think if I can reduce the length by about eight to 10 mm, all should be well.

PS Anyone looking to do the same, make sure you order the right one, as the 2020 onwards bikes’ stands are different than earlier years.
 
Apparently you can tell by the colour of the odo backlight….!

Blue has the shorter stand and orange (probably like yours) the longer side stand.

So I’ve been told anyway.

Also the foot on the shorter stand is very close to the bit you use to deploy it (triangular bit).
 
Whatever colour the odometer light is, mine certainly has the long stand.

That the foot of the shorter stand is closer to the ‘triangular bit’, certainly makes sense.
 
I fitted the adjustable side stand from Hitchcocks yesterday.

I didn’t have a spring puller to hand, so fitting the new stand with the spring in place was a bit tedious, not helped as I do not have a stand or lift to put the bike on. I am getting too old to grovel around on the ground.

I found:

A. Removing the side stand switch made it easier, as I could swing the stand on its spring more easily.

B. Lining up the holes in the stand with the hole in the lug, was a bit hit and miss. It would be much easier with the spring removed, of course.

C. After a little bit of adjustment, the bike now rests at a better angle on unlevel roads.

Worthwhile doing? I think so.

I am six foot, with a 31 inch inside leg.

I found the bike fine for all day riding, along with getting on and off. The only exception to this was the length of the side stand, when the road cambered upwards on the side stand side.

The bike is a late 2022 model, so it came with the small screen, which is fine.

Besides the side stand, the only other things I have changed by way of more comfortable riding are:

The standard seat, swapping it for RE’s touring seat. I found the standard seat too soft.

Added Oxford heated grips.

In the interests of keeping it cheap and following the Kiss technique i used my angle grinder to "adjust" the stand stop
to allow it, (the stand) to go further forward thus having the desired effect of allowing the bike to lean over more.
 
I had a local chap cut 1cm off the stand and weld a wider footplate, works for me... though on some slightly sloping surfaces it now leans too far so have a small wood block to slip under the stand! All very Heath Robinson.

At least the adjustable side stand gives you the option of finding what works for you
