adjustable torque arm question

hi,if you have one of these can you tell me how much shorter length than standard you can adjust it and if there is any problems with doing it because i'm thinking of cutting and welding mine to length instead of wrecking a good one when offroad
i also want to know if the torque arm off another model would do the job on my 1150 adv

I have one on my 02 1150gsa I wrote the size down when I messed with it a while ago if I can't find the info I will measure the distance if this will help.
no problems on mine and it's set to the shortest length,although the brake line looks tight.

just nipped out to measure the arm and from centre to centre of the bolts it's 350mm,i've not found my info on it as yet but if I do i will let you know. if you neen anything else just let me know.
