Anyone got a good tip on adjusting headlights?

I dont have a garage at the moment, so its all a bit hit and miss.

Also, on my 1150, there is a plastic bolt thing which I believe you are supposed t o use to do this. It also provides the levelling when you carry a pillion etc. Thing is, either I've got it wrong or it doesnt work. Ive stripped it all down and the metal bit simply doesnt want to budge in the poly plastic housing. The plastic bolt end just comes lose as well.

So far Ive got it in roughly the right area using the two spring loaded screws on the actuall lamps themeselves.

I've also got BTBRs fog and main beam mod (its great isnt it!?). Whats the best spread/pattern to set them to?

Cheers,

Mike
