Adv Bike Rider's ali boxes review

Thought they'd reviewed 'em - they had in the one I saw, I even texted Vern to suggest the reviewers were complete cocks for not giving him top marks*.

*Yes, I am quite a fan of Worldbeaters - having had Cajas, Touratechs, Jesses and System boxes

I think the panniers were reviewed....in the latest issue they reviewed top boxes.....but not Verns. :nenau

I thought the reviews could have been 'managed' better.

Although it was a good feature, a lot of space was taken up with unnecessarily large photos of the boxes features...but none of the overall look of the boxes, or them on the bike.

Also feel the Metal Mule panniers/top boxes, that admittedly are good, are nearly £2k for a fitted full system!!!.....you'd expect them to be good!!

And at that price it makes the others far better value and worthwhile....which should reflect in the ratings.

!!!!
Ali panniers are just two boxes bolted to the side of your bike, it doesn't matter 'how good' they are, they all do the same job:blast

I agree....I guess different panniers have different designs, features, and strengths.

But a Metal Mule system for a Gsa (38litre panniers, and a 35litre top box, powder coated) is £1,900+!

That's a whole lot of money!....is it that much a whole lot better??!?!

On an aside.....I was recently talking to Globe-busters at a bike show about some of their adventure tours....and the only panniers they recommend is Metal Mule.
I know they're a sponsor....but like I explained, if I changed from my OE BMW panniers (I wouldn't) that'd put two grand on top of the trip price!! :blast

Kind of agree, but it's fair to look at how much they weigh, how well they stay on, locks, water-tightness and sturdiness by way of comparison. They all do the same thing, but some do it better than others.
However, deffo agree you'd have to be mad to buy the expensive ones. My used GSA came with a set of Beemer ones, which I like, but would never, ever have parted with £1000 to put on myself.

Ive made my own and cost is approximately £30 :D Most of the stuff Ive ever scrouged from work but they not quite finished yet, just need to beg someone to do me a bit of welding and they will be all done!

Alpos cans.

Apparently they are airline food containers, bunged onto a sw motech set of pannier holders.
