My 1200 adventurer has a smashed head and rocker cover, i suppose no matter where i go i am going to get shafted, or do some shaft slghtly less,
is there any millage in trying to source abroad, thanks
 
Not that simple, bought it already buggered, it's a funny story, i was watching it on ebay, my collegues at work talked me out of it as i have a lot on my plate with my girlfriend seriously ill, so i thought oh well not meant to be, when i got home in the evening i took a look to see who had bought it, i thought the user name was familier, turns out it was my girlfriend because i had used her loggin and put it on an auction stealer program the week before and forgot,
it's a wonder i didn't try and out bid myself, plonker eh.
 
er no, she didn't know, she's away having chemo, i did wind her up a bit though,

On the parts front, it sounds as if what you need now is a donor vehicle, maybe something that died from water ingress, you could then salvage the bits you need from that, along with crash bars. Now where did I see one of these resently???

from what I can tell, dont hold your breath for new parts, complete engines are on back order in Germany, can't comment on the individual bits.

If you are feeling cheeky, you could always pop along to your nearest dealer and find out what they are doing with all the rusted crash bars they are replacing on the Adventures at the moment. Don't know what they will take to stop fromrusting, but might be a cheaper option than new.

I saw the 12ADV on E BAY and the damage,,
you might get some c/bars from a friendly BM mechanic (x warranty)??.

Hows the head??, looked dodgy in the photos?.
 
to be honest i haven't seen it yet, it was a bit of a gamble, the chap was a bit non comital so i hope it's not terminal, i'm guessing the head must be knackered otherwise they would have repaired it, i'll let you know the horrible truth when it turns up on tuesday,cheers
 
i suppose i'm right in thinking that all the r1200's will have the same head?
