Great thread about the tank conversion. Dont know if im brave enough  but im tempted given the greater leg protection etc..........however

has anybody priced up the ADV 1200 screen to go on a standard 1200, does it fit etc etc.

Ive done a search but cant find anything. :thumb

Yep but bloody dear tho'

I havent doen it yet as I'm still reeling in shock. I may do it yet, but been qouted £350 for the parts. yes all the bits will fit and should be a 40 min job... I'm going to ride GSA to see if the advantages are worth the expense!
Anyone ACTUALLY doen it yet?

bob.

£350???

How many parts do you need?

'kin 'ell - only wanted the screen, not the whole bike!

Having had a 1250 km 'test' ride on the GSA I'd say the screen is FAR better than my 'basic' 12 but is it worth the money ? - only you can answer that :D

Expensive scotch n'est pas?

Thats what I said when I was told....... You need One new screen, One new 2nd support bar, and one new set of plastic knobby tyings that you do up at the bottom of you screen.... adjusters I think they call them... Thats it £350!

I'll give it a miss at £350 mate - there other bits and bobs I'd rather spend my dough on first.

I'm wondering if the little side deflectors would help if fitted in conjunction with a standard 1200GS screen?

Those two little bits can only cost £80-£100 BMW pounds  PB

They are not that dear BUT!!! as I found out today the oil cooler/ headlight/ beak mounting bracket is different as it has supports built in to it for the deflectors and that is £210.oo plus the vat. The guy that I was pricing it for is just going to make fome kind of support rather than spending that sort of money.

Cant you just glue a bit of plastic to the underside to make it thicker & stiffer and/or use washers to spread the load? Thats what I'd do...

At least fitting a new screen doesnt need an earth connection does it John..........

;)

BTBR

PS
Still not mentioned nothing about the romper suit like I promised.....ooops! :o

:bow
