Hi there from a newbie!

I know this subject has been done to death, but I can't see exactly what I'm looking for, so here goes...

I've had my GS ADV for two years now, and, like a lot of people, find the seat uncomfortable on a long run. I also know that there are serveral aftermarket seats avalible for it; I'm aware of Sergent and Corbin, to name two. Does anyone have opinions/experience of these seats? Pros and cons of both against the original? And most importantly - are they worth the money?

TIA,

David Hale

What do you mean 'you can't find what you're looking for '?

This is the single most talked about subject - second only perhaps to 'bollocks'

if you go to the GS Mods forum, type seats into the search box, right at the bottom of the screen, you will probably find what you seek

Under my nose

Thanks Gents,

In future I promise to open my eyes first!

As and when I get a new seat I'll post my opinion for someone else to ignore...:)

Thanks again

As I have found out, seats are a very personel thing, what suits one could not suit another

For example, I bought a Sargent seat as nearly everyone rants about how good they are. To be fair the seat was fine, but the increased width of the rider part proved to much of a problem for me when trying to touch the floor! It is 40mm wider than a OE, thus I had to arch my legs more in order to get firm touch on terra firma.....

For what its worth, but I have a brand new "Melvin Hunter " fully loaded GSA low seat that if my Corbin seat arrives within the next three weeks, it will not be used and will therefore be up for grabs.

It has only been bought as a spare just in case the worst happens and Corbin do not deliver in time.

I used a brand new BMW low seat as a donar seat and Melvin did his magic after that, 3/4" gel pads added to the front and rear, he also narrowed the front part just a small amount but still kept it exactly the same height as the OE one.

The pillion section has been raised and made a little more rounded to keep SWMBO happy!

Seating on it, you can instantly feel the gel pads under yer bum and it offers all the support in all the right places, plus touching the floor is not an issue at all.

It really is a super job, if UR interested or need any more info, then please feel free to mail me direct on:-

David,
Try Viking Vinyls. 07977874075.
They are mobile but London based.
They are coming to me later this month & promise they can reshape my seat to make it lower, narrower and more comfortable for both me and my wife.
