Just bought an 1150ADV from this site. Great bike, but it seems to lean a lot further over on the side stand compared to my standard 1150. I must be a weakling as I find it very difficult to get the bike upright.

Is there a block or something available which attaches to the bottom of the side stand so that it does not lean quite so far over. Nippy does something like I am looking for, but this appears not to be for the ADV.

Many thanks for any help.

ice puck

Call at your local ice rink or ice hockey shop (if there is one!) and buy a puck.
Fitted with glue or a screw in the centre from underneath and cut to shape - jobs a good 'un as they say on this side of t'pennines.

Sherpa ;)

Just a thought, does the fat foot sold by NN make any noticeable difference to the angle of dangle?

No not that i have noticed but my ADV was pretty good any way.

Yet another good buy. Gives the stand a better footing when you are on softer ground and you the confidence to leave it there. Very easy to fit.

Quite right.

One added bonus. It makes a satisfying 'scrussssssssh' sound when it scrapes on left handers. Until that is it wears away and you buy a fresh one! :D

Problem solved after a little thought.

I'd not had this problem when I took an ADV demonstrator out. Looking at my bike the pre-load was up to max. Taken it back down to standard and the bikes easy to lift from the side stand. Hope it handles OK now!
