Hi guys.I managed to scratch adv-spec bars on one side (please do not ask me to explain how :toungincheek.Looking now for some paint spray to prevent it from rusting.Do any of you who have got them on the bike and have been through this "procedure" know which shade of black will match the best (manufacturer+shade). Thanks for advice.

PJ1 coating; Fast Black special black finish.

Satin black (260degreesC) Engine & case paint.

Mine were a mess after a get off so i rubbed them down with wet and dry then gave them a few coats of "plastikote matt black" they look brand new.
If you was at the horizons unlimited meet, my bike was the 800gs on the adv-spec stand and nobody noticed the diffarence.

I've just used satin black hammerite direct to rust metal spray paint on my adventure spec bars, some deep gouges and scratches down one side, covered it up nicely, primer + paint all in one, took about 3 thinly applied coats every 15 mins

Hammerite doesn't last.

Thanks to all for your advice.But...what do you mean Hammerite doesnt last?
Just ordered it yesterday as I wanted to go for this option :(.By the way does PJ1 requires undercoat or can be applied directly on surface.

I & others have tried hammerite & it doesn't last. Flakes off eventually or gets rubbed off by your clothing. PJ1, clean area & apply, cures 4+ hrs.

I've only had the hammerite on for a few months, not started flaking yet and wasn't aware of problems with it, sounds like gunzenbomz is talking from experience so I would go for pj1, I know I will if mine starts flaking

Ordered PJ1 today so can play with it this weekend, let you know the result. Many thanks for advice.
