Advantec ultimate oil

Both my Hexhead and TC use about 1/2 to a litre of oil in roughly 6000 miles

My LC on the other hand used no oil in 6000 miles , it just used to kill components lol

Hi All, I’m of on hols next week and my oil level is just above minimum, BMW says I Must use their oil and nothing with additives I don’t have time to get to a showroom, what if any, alternative oil can I get just to top up if needed.

BMW don't say that at all. They just 'recommend' their own brand Advantec. Which is only Shell Advance in a blue bottle but 5w instead of 10w (Because we all need to start our bikes in An Antarctic winter don't we).

They actually SPECIFY any oil that meets Jason API SN and MA2.

Without getting into an oil thread, an oil manufacturer will sell exactly the same oil to many reseller's under many brands, bottles, labels and colours.

If it has the correct specification from a reputable distributor then brand is completely irrelevant.
