Dear all ,

Just had a nudge from Giles Lamb re the above.

On Sunday 1sr April 2012.
At Mereworth Woods in Kent there is going to be an Off Rd Practice day aimed at Adventure and enduro bikes.
the course has been to accomodate Big Trail/Adv Bikes with special sections for the more determined rider.
the ground is a mix of terrain but think cambrian rally and you wont be too far off, tyres need to be knobblyish, TKC or similar. (just to be safe)

this is a Practice abd Training event aimed at getting riders on adventure bikes practicing off rd as well as a legal outing for enduro rail riders who fancy a bit of a blatt.
Ideal if you are up for the Big Bike Rally Challenge, get some practice in before it starts.

The £45 fee is payable to BlueLight Off Rd Club who are hosting the event.

You can book a place (limited spaces to 80 bikes) contact via Web ... check out the web site ...

www.bluelightoffroadclub.co.uk

from there you can get instructions on how to pay by cheque or Pay-Pal.

If you are at the Ace - Cafe Adventure bike doo on the 19th Feb 2012 come and see us, we have a stand on site where you can book direct.

Bit late now but Bagshot has some very errr "demanding" hills, (OK they were demanding for me!!!!) and it was a while ago but trying to push a Honda Dominator up a hill I could hardly walk up has never entirely left me. I've never been so bloody knackered...

Had a great time there today. Dropped the bike twice, the second one was nearly into a tree. It could of been a lot more expensive when you see how close the tree trunk was to the screen and bars. Lee was following me with another GoPro so I am sure he captured it too.

Basically I felt the bike lean to the right, steered right but the slime at the side of the road made me think it wasn't responding. Seeing the tree approaching, I just bailed out the back.

The front indicator popped out but went back in, the mirror just needed tightening up.

No other damage, just very muddy.

Perfect weather and great company, thanks to Giles for great instruction during the workshop ride.

Well done lads, looked like a lot of fun...:D

A wee tumble for Nigel....good lad!!! All part of the learning experience...which I know all too well....

Excellent footage on the Go Pro...can't wait to have my 15 minutes of video fame.....

Ha Ha. :D

Glad you had a good time :thumb2

It was mostly dry but there were the occasional quagmires. You missed a great day.

I should have said "hadn't rained" earlier but you worked that out. :thumb2

I've been building my Morocco Offroading bike so I couldn't make it without scarificing some buffer time. I hope you get to practise your newly found skills on the sandy trails.

This is on again on May 13.

Bookings appear to be down on the last event, so far.

BLORC need to get the numbers up by May 9 to warrant going ahead with this. I am torn between taking the Sherco or the GSA. I want to try out long-range ( well, less-short range) tanks on the Sherco; but also want to take the GSA out to play in the mud.
Judging by recent rainfall there could be lots about :bounce

See yer there .... :D
