I was lucky enough to win a “free service” in the raffle at the Welland Winter Weekend, which had kindly been donated by Adventure Bike Warehouse in Manchester.
As it happens, I was in need of a 48k service, but Manchester was 100 miles away so I booked my 1200 Adventure in for Jan 21/22nd, well, I may as well make a weekend of it... and, ooh look, there’s the National Winter Ales Festival on at the same time... what a coincidence :augie

I arrived around Friday lunchtime, freezing cold, and was welcomed with a steaming hot mug of coffee and a packet of Hob-Nobs... apparently, this is the norm. Everyone else who turned up seemed to expect it, and they weren’t disappointed... there’s even a food van just round the corner, very convenient.
After looking over the bike and taking me through what he intended doing, Jono (rudiemoto) insisted on driving me over to the other side of Manchester to check-in at the hotel I’d booked for the night, and to meet Mr K, who was going to assist me in tasting as many beers as is humanly possible :beer: (It was 24, if you were wondering)

Although Jono insisted that I call him to come and fetch me on Saturday morning, I decided to walk into the centre of Manchester and back out to Adventure Bike Warehouse in Swinton, getting there at about midday. I was a little early and the bike was still being finished off... but what Jono had done was amazing, above and beyond the call of duty really. As well as performing a proper “full” service, he’d cleaned it, AC50'd it, repainted all the worn bits where your boots rub, repainted the centre and side stands, and even painted my odd cylinder head protector black to match the one that I'd already done... it looked fantastic... the man's a God :bow

It was soon finished off and I was on my way home. Riding out of Manchester I was well impressed... it just "purrs" along now, with wonderfully smooth power delivery and no popping and banging on the overrun, which it had always done since I replaced the silencer and pipes for Remus ones.

Needless to say, I’m a happy bunny... and I’m very pleased to recommend Adventure Bike Warehouse to anyone :thumb

Awesome stuff!

He sorted out my rear wheel on my 1200 a bit ago, did a fantastic job. Top bloke.

Will let him loose on my KTM 525 in the Spring, can't wait for him to work his magic on it.

Fitted a set of Micro DE`s to my 1150GSA, very neat and tidy job, he also adjusted my front shock and replaced the plastic fuel line connector under the tank with a Gucci metal one.

Thanks Jono.:beerjug:

See you for the 36k service.

Visited ABW on Sunday morning and can only reiterate what the rest have said. Stonking service Jono..I'll bring some Earl Grey T- bags next time.

Oh yea, the GS1150 is now running sweet thanks and next time you WILL take fookin' money.

Would recommend them to anyone. :thumb

Anyone got a pic of a Puffin Crossing?

....don't tell me you don't know what the difference between a Pelican Crossing and a Puffin Crossing is?;)

Pegasuscrossing.jpg

i was wrong
its called a Pegasus crossings are similar to any other light-controlled crossing, but in addition to provision for pedestrians and cyclists (as at a toucan crossing) the pegasus crossing makes special provision for horse riders.
