Adventure Country Tracks (ACT) Portugal

Hi,
No not my videos. They were produced by Touratech and some of their business partners throughout Europe.

Pre-booked all the way. The only issue with this is if you get stuck out on the trail with a puncture or breakdown. If there's a group its not so much of an issue.
I did it with Overlanders here in Ireland. They shipped the bike to Bilbao and we flew in there and headed across Spain to the start.
The following years I did the Greece ACT, the Romanian ACT and this year the Italian ACT.
None of them are too demanding if you have a reasonable level of fitness.

Thanks for that info, very helpful :beerjug:

Thanks for all the info.
Looking at the GPX tracks right now.

I really need a motorbike vacation this year and planning to do the Portugal route this April/Easter.

Have some friends who live near the start of the route, and my sister lives in Spain (other side of the rock) at the other end. Might help for extra accommodation at the end of the trip :D

for those that have done the ACT Portugal, did you go North/South or vice versa, and what did you do for the return leg? Road, TET, or something else?

Our plan is to do the ACT from South to North then the TET back up, hopefully

And how did it go?
I'm looking at ACT Portugal for April '23, the main reason is my Brother has only just passed his test and doesn't want to ride the usually Portuguese trails that we do, TET included.

Good video here.
I’ve ridden in Portugal before the TET and definitely before ACT, so I’m sure I’ve done at least some of it.

Just planning to do the Portuguese ACT, most probably next year as this one is looking busy already. TET considered but I don’t really want to tackle anything too technical on a bike with luggage. I’ll be on my 701, most likely van there and leave it to do the route.
ACT recommend south to North is best but logistically the other way round will suit better this time.

Any advice gratefully received

I’m doing it north to south starting in mid June this year.
I ping you an update once I’ve done it if that helps.

Please do, will be helpful. There’s a few videos on YouTube showing ‘difficult’ sections but it doesn’t look at all bad for a 701… a fully loaded 1250 maybe

Yes I agree, I don’t think a big adventure bike would be the right tool for the ACT.
I’m planning on taking my 2001 KTM 640 adventure but I have a Kove 800 x Pro on order.
If it gets here in time, I’ll be taking that instead.

Are you buying from Joe at Ryder motorcycles? They’re only 4 miles down the road from me

Yes. I’m getting it from Ryder motorcycles in Sittingbourne in Kent as they are the nearest dealer to me.
Kove are about to announce a significant price cut in on the 800 X Pro, that’s what swung it for me.
