Adventure Dakar - I'm in love

I sold the SMR at the end of March for what I paid for it in May/June 2010

Dakar's are around the £10k mark or around £500 more than the standard 990 Adventure

Nothing to do with me..... but prob the first one to appear second hand in the UK.

A saving or £750.... I probably would have bought it.... mine now has 628 miles and is in getting it's first service.

They are like buses...... wait for long enough and two come along at once.

Another one on ebay at £8695 with 1300 miles.

Both are probably dealers' demo bikes which are now 3 months old and able to be flogged on with the dealer getting a big discount from KTM!

I'm surprised they put one on as a demo seeing as there was only supposed to be about 40 for the UK

hows the suede seat holding up? i am thinking of a dakar but wondering if the seat will go shiny over time as the suede is worn down

Only 650 miles on mine. No issues, other than goretex trousers are a must. It feels like a big chamois. Worth removing at wash time if you plan to ride it into the garage with jeans on!

mmmm im trying the decide on the 990R or the 990 Dakar....

i prefer the paint on the R but the dakar is better spec with ABS and crashbars.....

descisions descisions i might end up flipping a coin.

Just sold my 950Se and 1200 gs and bought a nearly new one with 300 miles on the clock, pick up Monday afternoon, off to europe tuesday morning

I see that the blue/orange colour scheme of the 30th Anniversary Dakar along with the 115bhp motor is now a standard spec for the 2012 model year

Apart from the Anniversay decal I couldn't see any difference between the Dakar and the 2012 bike. The seat was covered in the same grey alcantara with orange stitching and even the £9995otr price is the same

I kind of feel sorry for those dealers that are still suck with 2011 bikes they're trying to punt out at £9500

Oh well it seems there are deals to be done/had

Blue or white Adv for 2012 but no orange bike. WTF...

Never mind both look good with orange frame and engine bars and the R engine map as standard.

its not new, but its MINE !!

well, its not a new 30yr anniversary model, but i have a beautiful blue and orange 08 adventure "S" version with dakar decals. and i love it!!
pictured one isn't mine but same colour way, mine has orange engine bars too.
