I took the rear shock of my Adventure the other night to de-crud it and check if was still OK
Now i am trying to get it back on and having great difficulty trying to align the bottom bolt.
Which ever way i try its always a 'nats' out of alignment and wont let me get the bolt in.
If you look into the bolt hole it is a if the if the shock needs to move towards the engine slightly. but what ever i try it wont move there !
it doesnt seem to be catching anywhere at the bottom.
The shock fits into the bottom mount OK, i have tried this without fitting into the top turret.
I have tried to align the holes with a suitable tool but no go.
Is there some special trick? I currenty have it fitted with the flexi pipe
at the top of the shock -rearmost, tried it the other way around and but could not get the top to align.

Has anyone else had this problem when re-fitting
Thoese who have actually replaced a rear shock pleasae give me your thoughts .....Where's Steptoe ?

:(

Replaced "unhinged" ADV shocks while he waited recently -

Just wriggle the bolt and shock around and it'll pop in .

Tried all that still wont line up, i had quite a job to get it out,
I will have another look later, obvious nervous about doing anything other that starting the bolt by hand, may unhinge the rear subframe
so that i can fit in the horizontal the rotate to vertical and drop the subframe back over the top

:(

Enlisted the help of a friend, with his help we were able to hold the top shock mount hard agaist the turret with a big screwdriver with the bolt out, this gave the 'nats' i was looking for to get the bottom bolt in.
The same valuable lesson learnt again ...'leave the fekker alone' if its not bust

:o
