Hi all

Just wondering what the current thinking is about screen extenders. I had a Givi screen on my GS which was great, but just wondered what my fellow Adventure riders thoughts were. I don't particularly like the look of the offerings from T/T and W/L but the laminar lip looks reasonable.

Opinions please chaps:

I have the laminer lip fitted to the adventure screen. It came with the bike when I bought it.

I have had it off and on but can't quite work out if it is better or not

Just done a 3000 mile trip to Morocco and I removed it for the trip and most days had my Shoei Neotec flip up in the up position and no real buffeting noticed even at 80 mph.

The Laminer lip did work a treat on my Tmax though so they obviously do something but I've not worked out yet if its doing much on my ADV :nenau

A very wishy washy reply I'm affraid.

What problems are you having?

Jon

MRA x-creen

I used the MRA x-creen....it was fantastic. Fully adjustable and possible to ride with visor up at 90mph.
As luck would have it I also have one for sale that fits a 1200 GSA

I think the TT extender is a brilliant bit of kit and really works:thumb2 When you take it off, you really know the difference. I was over in Ireland at the weekend and lent it to a mate to try. He really liked it and he said it worked perfectly but he didn't like it sitting right in his eye line. It has never bothered me as I don't look through it but over it and I don't even notice it's there:thumby:

Screen Extender

The Wunderlich screen extender from Nippy Normans works great for me.
I'm 6ft 4in & it works real good. No doubt the TT extender will do the same job.

Another vote for above from me :thumb2

I have the TT locking version, it's fine for motorways or longer fast runs but I find it really obstructive on trails etc.

The TT def has to come off for non motorways. But it really reduces the tiring buffeting caused by other vehicles. TBH the WL version looks the better option. It can be swung out of the way and is semi permanently attached so its likely to stay put if you leave the bike and forget to remove it. Its also adjustable.

I had a TT version on a GSA screen for a few weeks and sold it. I bought it to see if it reduced the wind roar noise (even with earplugs) and it certainly did that, it was really great and nice and quiet. Perfect for big roads and motorways.

The trouble is I am mostly a back roads/cross country merchant and even though I am not a short arse it affected my view of seeing where I was going on twisty roads, getting clear definition of pot holes, puddles etc so it had to go.

I'm glad of the extra protection for when I have no choice but to take M-ways. Just take it off when I dont need it. :)
