I'm curious as to the comfort or otherwise of the OEM seat. When I bought my 1150 it had this Kahedo 'comfort' seat. Which I have found to be less than comfortable. It's not hideously bad, but being 6' 4" it does rather pin me in position and seems to be a bit on the low side. So while I can tolerate 150 - 200 miles or so, it does make me wince a fair bit when I have to get off as I appear to set like concrete. Isn't ageing great! :DD
So this has got my mind wondering about the comfort of the original bench type seat. My old 1150 had the dual seats and that too was a royal pain in the arse. Literally, although I overcame that with a sheepskin cover. Opinions/views invited. :okay

With my first 1150gs seat was so bad I was in agony after less than 100 miles and I tried a number of options with no joy , latest one I had Saddlecraft do the seat with a higher flatter profile and better quality foam .... it is now fine for 200 miles.
Similarly I have a Rallye single seat for my 1250 gsa that used to be on my 1200gsa, it was the standard seat but again a pita, got that one rebuilt with a taller flatter profile using better quality foam and it is now all day comfortable...again work done by Saddlecraft20240410_122209.jpgIMG_20211026_172635.jpg

I think most seats are okay but not what you want unless you go custom from someone like Viking in Kent.

I have the oem higher seat as well as the own lower. I’m taller and have done many longer trips on my higher seat. I’ve tried a Sargent and someone’s Viking and personally I found the Viking the best. I did notice the difference between the oem lower and higher seat

I use a Sargent normal saddle and it’s great on the adventure

Try and source a used airhawk seat cushion preferably a neoprene one and see how it works for you. It does raise the seat a bit which may help given your height. And if you like it it is portable between bikes and seats

Found this copy version that is a cheaper version to try out the concept and appears to be made of neoprene rubber. Check the dimensions of the pad against your seat as you don't want it overhanging the sides.

Never be as good as a proper seat from Corbin/Sargent or others

I have a Unit Garage seat which is a bit like a later rally seat - flatish and for solo use only as it’s not full length. But it’s very comfortable (although I’ve done 2 hours max on it so far) and fits better than OE around the tank. Not cheap but quality is good. Bought through Moore Speed Racing.
