R1150r lower pegs and higher seat options please

2004 R1150R

we have had this a short time and have decided that the seating in too cramped. It seems to have a low seat fitted.

I have done a bit of googling etc and seem to have found an option that will help but I am not too sure if its the best/easiest option, so am open to suggestions before I start spending.


Fit a set of 1150GS footrest brackets to lower the pegs, it seems I need to get the gear stick and gear linkage with the gearbox arm, I am not too sure if we need the GS brake lever and brake switch or if the R one swaps over.

Fit a Rockster r1150r "high" seat

I am wondering if the high seat will be enough to increase the leg room significantly, its obviously the easiest to fit. Has anyone experience of this fitted to a standard R1150R by itself and could comment on how good it was for increasing leg room and if it is enough without foot peg alterations ?

I will post a wanted ad for a Rockster high seat initially as I am not exactly sure what I need footpeg wise .

Here’s the peg to seat measurement on my Rockster, so you can work out how much extra room you’d get with the same seat.

I put gs foot rests on my 1150R 2002. I also added bar risers. Made a world of difference to me as I'm short. You have to bend the rear brake pipe line I think a bit, not too hard apparently but it needs redoing/lengthening. Adjust brake lever and gear selector at source, nothing else needed
